A California native, Monika graduated from UCLA in 1991 and has been involved in casting now for nearly 20 years. Her list of credits include high profile studio projects such as Serving Sarah with Elizabeth Hurley and Matthew Perry, Driven starring Sylvester Stallone and Burt Reynolds, The Million Dollar Hotel, starring Jeremy Davies, Mila Jovovich, Jimmy Smits and Mel Gibson, as well as the last two installments of the popular "American Pie" franchise with American Pie: The Naked Mile and American Pie: Beta House, and several films for fan favorite horror director Rob Zombie with The Devil's Rejects, Halloween, and Halloween II.
She has also cast a number of critically acclaimed independent films, including Love Liza starring Oscar winners Philip Seymour Hoffman and Kathy Bates. Love Liza screened at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival where it was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize, won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award, and was picked up for a wide theatrical release.
Since becoming a casting director she has cast over fifty feature films including: Drowning Mona starring Danny DeVito, Bette Midler, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Will Ferrell, Interstate 60 starring Michael J Fox and Gary Oldman, The Oh In Ohio starring Parker Posey and Paul Rudd, Finding Amanda starring Matthew Broderick and Brittany Snow, and Cleaner starring Eva Mendes, Samuel L. Jackson and Ed Harris.
Monika has also worked with a variety of acclaimed directors and producers such as Oliver Stone, Michael Bay, Pedro Almadovar, Bob & Harvey Weinstein, and Neil LaBute. On Neil LaBute's Nurse Betty starring Morgan Freeman, Renee Zellwegger, Chris Rock, and Greg Kinear, a young Renee Zelwegger received her very first Golden Globe nomination and won for“Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical."
